CNSG and AcuLearn, together with Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard, jointly organised this Breakfast Forum, “e-Learning: Contents @ the Speed of Light” on the 13th November 2002 at the Carlton Hotel, Singapore. Participants were briefed about the tools required to engage multimedia presentations on the web, either live or on-demand using technologies of CDN (Content Delivery Networks).
Mr Ken Tan, CEO & Co- Founder, Aculearn Pte Ltd was the first speaker who spoke on how a Singapore premier University, NTU (Nanyang Technological University), uses Aculearn’s technology to achieve its objective of Vision21, and a new learning paradigm. Mr. Tan stated that engaging e-Learning contents on the web used to be a time consuming and expensive process. He stated that what used to be weeks or months of work, that used to cost thousands of dollars for internal or external designers, programmers and post-production crew, is now a thing of the past. Organisations can now have the tools to capture, store and transmit these presentations affordably.Mr Johnathon Cervelli, Technology Specialist, Microsoft was the next speaker and he discussed the “Use of Streaming Media in Education and Businesses”. Using Windows Media as a Business Enabler, Mr.Cervelli spoke on Microsoft’s Media Vision and Business Cases using Media Technology.
The last speaker, Ms.Catherine Tay, Technical Consultant, Hewlett Packard spoke on HP’s new tablet and how the tablet can be used by mobile users to access corporate information.
