June 15, 2001[ 20 June 2001 ] CNSG at Canada-Singapore Business Association Luncheon
June 20, 2001The Canada-Singapore ICT Investment and Partnering Forum is a high profile event jointly organised by the Canadian government, CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG), Singapore Productivity and Standards Board, Economic Development Board and Singapore IT Federation. The event was held at the Ballroom at the Regent Hotel on 18 June 2001.
Her Excellency, Doreen Stedile, High Commissioner of Canada to Singapore officially opened the event. In her speech, Her Excellency highlighted that the Canadian Government had identified Singapore as one of the 16 key priority countries for ICT trade and investment co-operation. Assoc Prof (Dr.) Toh See Kiat, Chairman, CommerceNet Singapore, delivered the keynote address at the Forum with the focus on the e-Commerce scenario in Singapore.
The ICT Forum received overwhelming support from the Canadian as well as Singapore participants. In total, 18 Canadian ICT sector business leaders spoke on the latest emerging technologies and business solutions in the area of eCommerce, business opportunities in broadband access, m-commerce, ASP, latest solutions for convergence, interactivity and content management, VoIP, wireless info-security, wireless technology, network solutions and satellite communications systems.
The event is part of the Canadian Week celebration in Singapore.
