November 30, 2004CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) attended the 2nd Asia Trustmark Alliance Meeting in Taiwan. The 2nd ATA Meeting was officially opened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan. Representatives of ATA from Korea, Singapore and Japan also attended the meeting. Mr. Ramesh Vakkiprath represented CNSG at the ATA meeting.
The National Trust Council of Singapore (NTC) briefed members of ATA on the progress update on ATA development which included the standardisation of the B2B criteria that was developed by CommerceNet Singapore and approved by all members, the cross-border dispute resolution system and the incorporation of the ATA descriptor in all members’ logo.
NTC officially handed-over the duties of ATA Chairmanship to Secure Online Shopping Association (SOSA) of Taiwan.
ATA members agreed to share the trustmark development progress among all ATA members and establish marketing channels among ATA member countries to promote ATA. Members also discussed the recruitment criteria for new ATA members and explored opportunities and future coorperation for Global Trustmark Alliance (GTA) and ATA.
The ATA meeting concluded the following:
- Korea Institute of Electronic Commerce (KIEC) to lead the half-yearly ATA newsletter development and each member country takes turn to contribute the content.
- All ATA member countries to explore working with BBBOnline to establish GTA.
- GBDe will provide the necessary assistance to facilitate an MOU of the establishment if required.
- ATA members to share experience and support Online ADR system.
- ATA secretariat work to be undertaken by member country who assumes ATA Chairmanship.
- The next ATA Meeting to be hosted by KIEC in Korea.
