September 21, 2001CommerceNet Singapore’s (CNSG) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jeh Shyan Wong delivers the keynote address at the 2nd International Trustmark Workshop in Seoul, Korea. The trustmark industry leaders met at a forum held at Grand Inter-Continental Hotel, Seoul. The grouping is formalised as International Trustmark Network (ITN), bringing together trustmarks from Japan, Korea, USA and Singapore.
In his keynote, Mr. Wong touched on the need to have benchmarking standards, and cross-recognition methods among global trustmarks. National trustmark projects should be supported by ITN in countries that already had implementations. ITN should also provide assistance to initiatives in countries that have yet to develop their trustmark. These new trustmarks can be benchmarked to ITN proposed emerging standards.

All the ITN delegates agreed that the Trustmark grouping will be known as International Trustmark Network (ITN) with immediate effect. The delegates agreed to be committee members for ITN project, except delegates from Ecom, which need to have the confirmation from JIPDEC, Japan.
CNSG and CommerceTrust will host the 3rd ITN Meeting within 6 months at a location to be proposed by CNSG. CNSG has also consented to act as ITN secretariat for next 6 months. KAIT appointed as Chairperson of ITN for next 6 months. Ms. Merlissa Phua, CNSG’s Corporate Services Manager was appointed as Secretary-General of ITN for next 6 months.
