March 19, 2001[ 16 April 2001 ] CommerceNet Singapore’s Consultative Partners Meeting
April 16, 2001ITCN Asia 2001 International Conference ends with a grand gala dinner at Sindh Governor’s House The dinner held at the end of the conference was also joined by exhibitors from the ITCN Asia 2001 Exhibition. ITCN Asia 2001 is the largest IT show ever held in Karachi, making use of the newly built Karachi Exposition Hall.
The large crowd turned up at the gala dinner were entertained by a synchronised Confetti and Laser display, brought specially into Pakistan for the ITCN Asia 2001 event. The display is second only to the breathtaking display held during the exhibition opening, just the day before. ITCN Asia 2001 marks the first time laser display were used in Pakistan.
The conference was a huge success. It had attracted global participation from more than 30 countries. Held at Sheraton Towers Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan, the conference had attracted large media following with international satellite television crews and press corps setting up interviews for the delegates from all over the world. The large numbers of TV stations recorded more than 60 television interviews from the delegates. Their presence at the conference venue had virtually transformed the adjacent function rooms into active TV studios.
Evidently pleased with the outcome of the conference, the key organisers Ms. Angelina Tan and Ms. Merlissa Phua from CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG), sighed with relief. Both had high praises and good words for the large number of volunteers from the tertiary institutions that had toiled with the team through the final preparation stages as well as conference proper.
