April 1, 2003CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) today announced that the consortium will support one world class technology park in Bahrain. The technology park known as iTeknoCity will house some of the top ICT companies as well as two bio-informatics clusters. The park is slated to be one of the top centres in Middle-East. iTeknoCity will provide tremendous oppportunities for local and regional companies housed in Singapore and ASEAN to make a meaningful move into Bahrain and the Middle-East.
CNSG had gathered industry backing from various interested parties that will participate in iTeknoCity through various flexible arrangements. CNSG is also arranging investment opportunities into the park. Various large MNCs, GLCs and high-networth individuals had shown keen interest. A complete preliminary masterplan of iTeknoCity has been sent to CNSG office in Singapore.
The state-of-the-art IT infrastructure to be deployed in the park will be arranged and managed as to allow private corporate entities to run the backbone and provided as core managed services. The project is currently awaiting Bahrain’s government approval.
