July 7, 2005CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) is advocating that there must be a workable technological solution to the current vehicular traffic problems in many cities in the region. There is no shortage of sustainable mass transit system solutions but the adoptation is slow due to various factors including heavy financial outlay and hefty start-up cost.
CNSG’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jeh Shyan Wong went on detailed discussions with Mtrans to promote monorail as the Next Generation Urban Transit. The technologies developed by Mtrans, Malaysia may form the base technology to be licensed to other countries that are keen to build their own pollution free, affordable and effective urban transit.
While ticketing and signalling technologies and a number components of any urban transit projects had matured, many are unaware of hybrid electric solution useable on urban transit system. Also the incorporation of telematics solutions are not widespread. CNSG will work to promote a whole new class of hybrid electric solution in monorail as the key component of Next Generation Urban Transit. it is This will lower the financial outlay of the projects to enable better viability for many irban areas.
CNSG had been working with Mtrans on various initiatives since Year 2003, especially pertaining to monorail solutions in the Middle-Eastern and South Asia region.
