April 1, 2004CNSG organised a workshop: ‘Paradigm Shift: Effective Approaches to Changing Education Needs’ at the Republic Polytechnic.
Speakers from both the academia and the industry including a consulting psychologist were invited to present at this workshop. The workshop covered topics ranging from the alternative methodology to creative coursework delivery, the use of cognitive technology in training/curriculum development, protection of intellectual property in course work development and the use of e-learning to deliver educational content. Participants were also given practical tips at the workshop on individualized profiling.
Participants attending the workshop also gained from insight to better understand behavourial science, the integration of body-mind for achieving peak learning performance, as a factor to consider in the development of training/coursework and curriculum. Participants were exposed to general psychological techniques to instill positive learning behaviour, overcome mental barriers and the range of mental/emotional strategies for coping with studying and examination stress, the mental strength and calmness to ensure optimum learning. Alternative teaching methodology and content delivery were also explored. In addition, participants were also exposed to how they can protect their creation from copyright infringements.
