October 8, 2001CommerceTrust Global Reliability Programme will be featured on NTV7, as part of the consumer education awareness campaign. It will be covered over two days, on prime time weekend news as part of the IT development in Malaysia.
One of the core item in Global Reliability Programme is the ConsumerTrust, which is a global trustmark developed by CNSG. ConsumerTrust is currently a major part of the consumer education awareness campaign. The introduction of ConsumerTrust is a significant step for adoption of good business practices both online and off-line. It addresses especially the general uncertainty both consumers and businesses feel about the security of online transactions. Global Reliability Programme is now a reputable cross boundary initiative to build confidence among both consumers and businesses in transacting online. Trustmark can have a significant impact on industry’s ability to create a trusted environment for online transaction to take place. A common platform is required on the Internet that promotes consumer confidence and trust.
The popular TV station interviewed CNSG’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jeh Shyan Wong at NTV7 studio at Glenmarie, outside Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Wong also announced the possibility of a global trustmark conference being held in an ASEAN city, either in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. CNSG will host the event at the beginning of Q2, 2002.
The ConsumerTrust Code of Practice is based on the international practices of trustmarks established in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Global Business Dialogue on Electronic Commerce (GBDe) guidelines and other regulatory standards. It focuses on issues such as disclosure of relevant information about goods or services offered, truthful and accurate advertising, dispute resolution, and security and privacy of business transactions.
