March 12, 2000CNSG’s taskforce spin-off, Institute of E-Commerce (IOEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dadabhoy Foundation to assist the foundation to set up a new university. The foundation has received their university charter and is working with IOEC to establish Dadabhoy University at Hawksbay, Karachi. IOEC will transfer the technical expertise, know-how, and experience in the field of Information Technology and teaching expertise in assisting the setting up of Dadabhoy University and will actively work on the curriculum development pertaining to the needs of ‘new economy’ sectors.The MOU was dated on 3 March 2001. Dadabhoy Foundation was represnted by its Managing Trustee, Mr. Abdullah Dadabhoy. CNSG via its current special IOEC taskforce was represented by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jeh Shyan Wong. Both parties agreed that they are desirous of establishing Dadabhoy University on the land, owned by the foundation, measuring 250 acres at Hawksbay, Karachi.
The project is part of the larger science park framework known currently as Hawksbay Internet City. IOEC is expected to commenec into direct working sessions in late April and early May, 2001.
