December 3, 2002[ 19 December 2002 ] CNSG Chief Executive Oficer Meets Key IT Representatives on Feedback and Brainstorm Sessions
December 19, 2002CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) is responding to the worst economic situation in recent history by providing a safety net for professionals and workers. With many professionals and skilled personnel being laid off daily, CNSG hopes that offering industry job matching will soften the impact of industry-wide retrenchment. CNSG believes that this programme will be useful for the industry. CNSG’s comprehensive and growing database of jobs will be deployed for the first time in this direction.
Personnel facing the prospect of being retrenched can take the opportunity to match for possible suitable jobs. Focus will be to match skill-sets comparable to the last 2 previously held jobs, followed by qualifications, then desired salary range. When a potential match is found, a copy of the CV will be sent to the relevant HR managers of matched companies. A detailed CV/Resume is therefore instrumental and required for the prospective employer to shortlist potential candidates. While CNSG work on the programme in good faith, CNSG cannot guarantee a job for all registrants, as the number of suitable jobs or desired openings may be limited. Also, the data may be used for head-hunting purpose for senior executives.
CNSG is working with limited resources for the programme. CNSG hopes that only serious applicants take advantage of this programme. A flat fee of $10 is charged for each application lodged with CNSG to cover administrative expenses. Application forms can be obtained from www.cnsg.com.sg/repository.pdf. CNSG will continue to support the programme as long as the demand for such services is required.
