February 22, 2001Delegates from Hong Kong and Pakistan joins CNSG in visiting the stock exchange, Singapore Exchange (SGX). A briefing was held on various issues, requirements and advantages of a listing on SGX. Ms Carol Chew, Vice President of Listings, was assisted by Ms Tan Suan Hui, Senior Associate (Team Leader) and Ms Candice Tia, Associate, in the briefing session. Various paths to list on SGX were discussed. Valuation criteria and shareholding requirements are also addressed. The briefing was followed by lively questions and answers session. Among the topics discussed were market liquidity advantage and dual listing of international companies on SGX.
The delegates felt that the meeting was very fruitful. CNSG and CNHK intend to hold future sessions with SGX, with other participants when the opportunity arises. The joint initiative by CNSG-CNHK may be broadened to include other companies from regional countries including Japan, Korea and Taiwan apart from current Singapore, Hong Kong and Pakistan companies.
