December 7, 2000In our continuing series on Internet Payment, Mr. Benjamin Lee, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Cybercash, Hong Kong, gave a presentation on “Completing the Online Transaction”. Mr. Lee provided an insight on sell-through issues faced by online suppliers/merchants. He discussed about increasing popularity and issuance of the Purchase Card, the One-click-shopping concept and Agile Wallet technologies.
The 2nd speaker, Ms.Esther Tan, Programme Manager, Singapore Engineering Design Centre, Compaq Computer Asia Pacific Pte Ltd spoke on the lack of appropriate payment instruments which are aligned to the B2B operations. She stated that NETS and Compaq have been working together on the electronic Payment Advice (ePAD) initiative to provide a one-stop payment portal to address precisely the B2B issue. The audience was also given an overview of the ePAD system and its relevance to the market place.
