March 17, 2000John Fogarasi is the South Asia Marketing Director for all Products, Solutions, Services and Channel Marketing programs in its Enterprise & Commercial Business (ECB). The ECB of HP’s Computing and Imaging Business is responsible for several major HP products and services including the company’s multi-user systems, servers, workstations, software, e-services as well as HP Consulting. Mr Fogarasi, who is based in Singapore, will lead HP ECB in South Asia’s marketing activities to grow HP’s mind-share in the region.
He moves from his current responsibility as the Director of Alliances in Asia Pacific where he has led business development activities with partners such as Oracle and Cisco.
After joining HP Australia in 1986, Mr Fogarasi held several positions in sales, channels and marketing. During 1995, he left HP to join Compaq as their mid-range marketing manager to develop Compaq’s application server business in that region. He was then recruited back to HP to fill the role of Marketing and Channels Manager for Australia and New Zealand where he spent three years. During this time he built a strong integrated team that delivered the broad range of product and solutions marketing programs as well as outstanding channel growth.
Prior to joining HP, Mr Fogarasi was employed by a major HP manufacturing account Plessey Telecommunications. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
Presentation Outline
A quick snapshot of the mobile e-commerce market, its growth potential and the key drivers for its rapid expansion. This presentation will examine the development of the e-speak-enabled and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) solutions for the global market and how it has provided incubation facilities for startup companies with mobile solutions. It will also focus on HP’s approach to attracting and nurturing the development of mobile solutions specifically targetted to Asian markets, including content in native languages.
