October 24, 2001The rapidly growing world of trade depends upon the efficient, transparent and economic movement of goods around the globe. This is difficult to achieve when most often the distribution cycle consist of multiple players, with different processes, different technical capabilities and different priorities. With this in mind, SITA recently commissioned a study of the involved supply chain. The message from the study is clear; nobody, no matter how big or powerful, can do everything and survive.
Mr.Alan Miu, Regional Director, Sita Logistics Solutions, Asia Pacific SITA spoke on the foundation for a whole new way of doing business in the future – from PO (purchase order) to POD (point of delivery). He stated that this method would result in process cost reductions while achieving accuracy gains from improved efficiency.
A total of 25 participants attended the Breakfast Talk which was held at the York Hotel.
