Presentation Outline
As you enter the 21st century, like most senior executives, strategy must be at the top of your list of important issues. Formulating strategy is one thing. Executing it is another. A recent cover story in Fortune magazine on why leaders are not successful found that it was rarely the strategy itself that was at fault, but rather, the leaders’ failure to execute their strategies effectively.
The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) strategic management system’s framework and methodology was initiated and developed by Professor Robert Kaplan of Harvard Business School and Dr. David Norton of the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative. It is a proven methodology that has been adopted by a growing number of organisations worldwide to successfully implement their respective business strategies. In particular, an estimated 60% of the Fortune 1000 companies either have or are experimenting with the Balanced Scorecard.
Finally, quoting Dr. David Norton, “If you want your organization to focus on strategy, make sure that your information and management systems are designed to manage strategy.
