June 18, 2001CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) held a board meeting today. Dr. Toh See Kiat was re-elected as Chairman of CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG), while Ms. Eileen Seah from SITA was elected to replace Mr. William Tan of SingPost as Treasurer.
Members of BOD were briefed on the current activities and events within CNSG. Dr. Toh briefed the members of BOD on the success of ITCN Asia 2001 held in Karachi during March. Future regional conferences are likely to be held in Colombo and Lahore, with possible partnership coming from CNK and CNHK. The E-Global 2001 Conference has been slated for 27-28 October 2001 in Lahore planned and an MOA would be signed with other organisers to monetise the management expertise offered by CNSG staff.
A Singapore conference has been planned to be held in September. The conference will be known as e-Global Singapore Conference.
The Board was also informed that CommerceTrust has received in-principle approval as an Authorised Codes Owner (ACO) granted by IDA. The official launch of CommerceTrust solutions has been targeted in July. Offer of the 316,5000 right issues by CommerceTrust were fully taken up by CNSG.
Institute of e-Commerce (IOEC), another project by CNSG has successfully completed its first run of the Specialist Diploma in E-Business Management with Temasek Polytechnic. It will continue the joint programme with TP for the second intake beginning in Jan 2002. At the same time, IOEC has designed a three-month certified course in eFinancial Management and propose to MDIS to conduct the programmed on profit-sharing basis. The course is targeted to commence in September.
