February 12, 2004CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) in collaboration with Benchmark Online, Sun Microsystems and Ingram Micro organised this Executive Breakfast Forum, “Knowledge Management Architecture: Building your Knowledge Management System to Gain Competitive Advantage”. The forum held at the Carlton Hotel Singapore on 10th December 2003 was attended by CEOs, CIOs, CTOs and Senior Management Executives from the Financial, Education and High-tech Manufacturing industry involved in IT/MIS initiatives.
Ms. Angelina Tan, Senior Manager of CommerceNet Singapore gave the opening address followed by Mr. S Kumar, Chief Solutions Architect / Director, iGLOBAL Group, who spoke about “Building an Effective Knowledge Management System in the Organization”. Mr. Kumar shared on how Knowledge Management (KM) focused on ‘doing the right thing’ instead of ‘doing things right.’
The 2nd speaker, Mr.Philip Ng, Strategic Account Director, SUN Microsystems Singapore spoke on the topic of “Enterprise Solutions for Knowledge Management Infrastructure”. Mr. Ng focused on the nuts-and-bolts of deploying a cost-effective infrastructure that was responsive to our organisation’s needs.
The last speaker, Mr.Edmund Tan, Director – Business Development, Benchmark Online Pte Ltd, spoke on the topic on “Transforming traditional E-learning into Learning Management System”. Mr. Tan shared on the Enterprise market, and how Learning Organisations have to leverage new technologies to ensure that employees have the necessary information to obtain – and maintain – an edge in today’s extremely competitive environment.
Dr. Finian Tan, CEO of Benchmark Online Pte Ltd, launched the Benchmark Industry Initiative Grant (BIIG) at the end of the forum. BIIG is designed to help organizations adapt to Online Learning methods for their training and content management needs.
The Breakfast Forum ended with the Q & A Session at 11am.
